Date: February 2 - March 15
Referred to as RBS 6 Nations for sponsorship reasons, the Six Nations Championship is an annual international rugby union competition involving six European sides: England, France, Italy, Scotland and Wales. Before 2000, it was known as the Five Nations Championship. Sometimes, the winner of the RBS 6 Nations is regarded as the European Champions.
The premier international rugby union tournament in the Northern Hemisphere is the Six Nations Championships, with its predecessors the Five Nations and the Home Championship. In the past it was also known as ‘The International Championship’. The Women’s Six Nations Championship also features the same lineup as the male Six Nations since 2007, but before that, Spain used to feature instead of Italy.
In 2008, Wales became the current champions beating all other teams, thus winning the Grand Slam and Triple Crown.
