First started in 1987, London’s New Year’s Day Parade has raised or donated nearly a million pounds to a wide range of London based charities. The London New Year’s Day Parade is a very popular event where more than 10,000 performers representing 20 countries worldwide participate. More than half a million spectators line the 2 mile route and around 200 million viewers watch the event.

As Big Ben strikes 12 noon, the Parade starts in Parliament Square and finishes at 3 pm at Berkeley Street, Piccadilly. The 2 mile Parade route is as follows:
  • Parliament Square
  • Whitehall
  • Trafalgar Square
  • Pall Mall
  • Regent Street
  • Piccadilly Circus
  • Piccadilly, up to the junction with Berkeley Street
For better viewing, it is recommended to be there along the route by 11:00 am. The celebration starts from 11:15 am by celebrity commentators.
