Marble Arch - London
Overview
At the western end of Oxford Street in London, England, Marble Arch is a white Carrara marble monument near Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park. In 1828, John Nash designed the Marble Arch based on the triumphal arch of Constantine in Rome as the chief entrance to Buckingham Palace. But the Arch was moved to its current site as an entrance to Hyde Park when the Palace was extended in 1851.
