Before becoming the first and largest Ragged School in London, this was originally a lime juice storage facility. Dr. Thomas Bernardo reconstructed it in 1868 to become the Ragged School Museum until 1908 when all the buildings on Copperfield were condemned. At the museum one can get to know about how Victorian children learned as the warehouses have become a virtual classroom.
