Renamed as the South Kensington Museum in 1857, Victoria and Albert Museum is the world’s largest museum of decorative art which was first opened in 1852. Again in 1899 it was renamed after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. It boasts of 3,000 years worth of artifacts from many of the world’s richest cultures, the Cast Courts, the national collection of paintings by Constable and the largest collection of Italian Renaissance sculpture outside Italy inside its 145 galleries.
