Children will like to visit the Museum of Childhood Bethnal Green for it has a great collection of largest and oldest toys and various child artifacts. The collections comprises of all objects which dates from the 16th century to the present day. It displays dolls, dolls’ houses, teddy bears, toy soldiers, train sets, model cars, puppets and many more. Apart from these, the museum also organizes temporary exhibitions, gallery play areas, art activities for children above the age group of 5, some special activities during school holidays and some soft plays for children under 5. In addition to these, the Museum also has a great collection of children’s costume.
The upper gallery of the museum displays a unique range of baby equipments, nursery furniture and costume, thus completing the theme of growing up through the ages. It gives you the experience from your childhood to adolescence.
The Museum of Childhood Bethnal Green is open all through out the year from 10am to 5:50pm. It is closed on Fridays, 24-26 December and 1 January. The admission to the Museum of Childhood Bethnal Green is free which stands in Cambridge Heath Road.
